What are Instagram’s Highlights?

Instagram Highlights are stories from your stories archive that you select to display on your profile page. You can save your Instagram Story in one of your Highlights to keep it on your profile page for as long as you want.

You won’t see the number of views or viewers for your archived stories once you have added them to Highlights. Once you add your Highlights, you won’t see the number of people who have viewed them. This is still a great way to keep your best stories on your profile.

Instagram Highlights can include both video and photo stories. There is a limit of 100 Highlights. You can also add as many Highlights as you wish to your Instagram account. To see any Highlights, not on the screen, the viewers simply have to scroll left.

How to enable the Instagram Archiving Feature

Instagram allows you to create a new highlight by using either your active stories or archived stories. You will need an account with an archiving feature. It’s normally active by default, but you can turn it off to make it work again.

1. Go to your profile on Instagram by opening Instagram
2. Select Menu from the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Follow the Settings> Privacy Story.
4. Scroll down until Savings are visible. To turn on the feature, click the toggle next Save Story to Archive.

After you’ve verified that your archived stories are enabled, you can start creating your first Instagram Highlight.

How to Make an Instagram Highlight

Both Android and iPhone users can create a new Highlight using the same steps. This is how to create an Instagram highlight using one of your stories.

1. Open Instagram, and select the Story you wish to add to the Highlight.
2. Select Highlighting the lower right corner of your screen.
3. Select New from the Add to Highlight
4. First, create a name for your Highlight. Next, select Add> Done.

Your highlight will only appear to Instagram users if you leave it blank. The name can be edited later. You can also modify the Instagram story highlight cover covers, but we’ll get back to that in a moment.

Follow these steps to create an Instagram highlight using your archived stories’ content.

1. Open your Instagram profile.
2. Select the NewHighlight area.
3. All of the stories you have previously posted will be displayed. You can select the one you wish to add to your Highlight and then choose Next.
4. First, create a name for your Highlight. Next, select Add> Done.

Your new Instagram Highlight will now appear on your profile.

How to add new stories to your Instagram Highlight

You’ll need to tell new stories later if your highlight is dedicated to a continuous event in your life, such as daily photos of your pet. Here are some ways you can do this.

1. Select the Highlight you wish to add additional stories too.
2. Scroll to the bottom-right corner and select More.
3. Select Edit highlight> Stories.
4. Choose the stories you want to include in your highlight.
5. After you are done, click Done.

Your Highlight will now contain new stories.

How To Remove Stories from Your Highlight

Sometimes you might have accidentally added the wrong story to your highlight. Or maybe you’ve changed your mind and decided to delete some. Follow these steps to delete stories from your Instagram Highlight.

1. Open your Instagram Highlight to find the story you wish to delete.
2. In the bottom-right corner, select More.
3. Select Removing highlight. To confirm, select Remove.

If you decide to change your mind, you can add the same stories to your highlight.

How to Make Instagram Highlights Covers

Instagram assigns the cover photo for a new Highlight automatically when you create it. This is based on the stories you have added. It can work sometimes, but it is not always perfect. The image must be perfectly centered to appear good in a circle shape.

You’ll notice that Instagram accounts with large followings use custom covers as their Instagram Highlight icons. You can be creative and use your own hashtags stickers and emojis to cover your pages. Make sure you follow your brand colors so your Highlights are more in line with your Instagram feed.

You have many options to create unique images for your Instagram Highlights. You can either search the Internet for free templates and icons or use Canva to make your own.

Once you have your document, here are the steps to make your highlight cover.

1. Select Morefrom the Highlight you wish to edit.
2. Select Edit highlight> Edit cover.
3. The current highlight cover picture will be displayed. There are also a few pictures from other stories that can be selected.
4. Swipe to the left and click on the iconto create a new image.
5. Select the image you wish to use as your highlight cover.
6. When you are done, select Done

How to Delete An Instagram Highlight

You can easily delete a Highlight from your profile if you decide you no longer want it. Follow these steps to do this.

1. Hold the highlight you wish to remove by tapping and holding it.
2. Select and remove from your pop-up menu.

This is it. You’ll need to make a new highlight if you wish to restore it.
